For those who are interested in doing this test, go ahead and see if your personality test reflects the true you. I guess what has been said is very relevant to me, esp the part on relationships and feelings and being able to communicate my feelings and being articulate. Ha. Janice, an outstanding INFJ. Only 1 percent of the population is an INFJ.

Introverted iNtuiting Feeling Judging
by Marina Margaret Heiss
INFJs are distinguished by both their complexity of character and the unusual range and depth of their talents. Strongly humanitarian in outlook, INFJs tend to be idealists, and because of their J preference for closure and completion, they are generally "doers" as well as dreamers. This rare combination of vision and practicality often results in INFJs taking a disproportionate amount of responsibility in the various causes to which so many of them seem to be drawn.
INFJs are deeply concerned about their relations with individuals as well as the state of humanity at large. They are, in fact, sometimes mistaken for extroverts because they appear so outgoing and are so genuinely interested in people -- a product of the Feeling function they most readily show to the world. On the contrary, INFJs are true introverts, who can only be emotionally intimate and fulfilled with a chosen few from among their long-term friends, family, or obvious "soul mates." While instinctively courting the personal and organizational demands continually made upon them by others, at intervals INFJs will suddenly withdraw into themselves, sometimes shutting out even their intimates. This apparent paradox is a necessary escape valve for them, providing both time to rebuild their depleted resources and a filter to prevent the emotional overload to which they are so susceptible as inherent "givers." As a pattern of behavior, it is perhaps the most confusing aspect of the enigmatic INFJ character to outsiders, and hence the most often misunderstood -- particularly by those who have little experience with this rare type.
Usually self-expression comes more easily to INFJs on paper, as they tend to have strong writing skills. Since in addition they often possess a strong personal charisma, INFJs are generally well-suited to the "inspirational" professions such as teaching (especially in higher education) and religious leadership. Psychology and counseling are other obvious choices, but overall, INFJs can be exceptionally difficult to pigeonhole by their career paths. Perhaps the best example of this occurs in the technical fields. Many INFJs perceive themselves at a disadvantage when dealing with the mystique and formality of "hard logic", and in academic terms this may cause a tendency to gravitate towards the liberal arts rather than the sciences. However, the significant minority of INFJs who do pursue studies and careers in the latter areas tend to be as successful as their T counterparts, as it is *iNtuition* -- the dominant function for the INFJ type -- which governs the ability to understand abstract theory and implement it creatively.
I'm an INFJ.

I am so happy and so relieved! Gave my KC HOD a call yesterday to ask if she could help with the PSG thingy that I am supposed to do for my elective module. Mrs Lie is so nice, she asked me to correspond with her via email and send her my questions. I'm really thankful to her. She is the HOD in charge of pastoral care and guidance or someting like that, and has a personality to go with it.
I really hope she can help us out. I also sent her a photo to remind her about myself. Ha ha, I hope she remembers me. Managed to get myself a new haircut too, just before service yesterday. The service was great! I learnt about cultures being different but culture is amoral. It is a grey shade that God does not dictate if this is OUTRIGHT RIGHT OR WRONG. Forexamply, drinking and playing card games to some Christians may be unacceptable but God has no problem with that. This does not mean therefore that we should blatantly go on a drinking spree, but there is nothing wrong with drinking in moderation for myself.
That's it. I'm going to get myself that Screaming Orgasm that I've always seen on the menu but never had the guts to try. Chinese New Year is just round the corner, and I'm already looking forward to a great year ahead. May this new year usher in greater joys and blessings for everyone. :)

No elective today. Dr Khong has NOT replied to our frantic emails. Sigh. 10.15am. Sitting by myself in the canteen having a peaceful meal and abruptly interrupted by a rather cute par of geog frens. Rezal and Yizhen came by and the three of us ate together. Rezal calling me the nerd. HA HA HA. It has been a long time since anyone called me that. Heh.
It is refreshing to talk to them in a way as it brough back memories of my past microteaching last sem..I wonder how we strayed to that topic, from savings plan to money issues to marriage to geog to K. HA HA HA. 10.30am. Time to head for lit class. A very relaxed Janice still sitting at the canteen table and along comes Yue Heng to remind me that class starts now. Ha ha. I got the monday blues. Oops.
I really am feeling like a tai tai now. Ha ha. So many things that I do just reminds me of the tai tai in Singapore...the type who goes strutting along Orchard Road on a working day and fussing over chats with friends and reading away. :S Currently feeling very contented and happy. It's as if the world is cheering for me and everything is going my way. I'm just enjoying every moment of my life, my days. In a happy daze.

Don't be fooled by my title. Ha ha, what were you thinking? :P I'm really happy today because we have called it a day! My family has always been busy making pineapple tarts for every Chinese New Year, and this year is no exception. This year is a little different though, we have an addition to the family-the presence of baby Yanfeng.
It is not easy having to keep an eye on him while making sure nothing goes wrong with the tarts! Ha ha. We managed to do it though. Mission accomplished. Today is really one of those rare days, an off day for me, no classes! Finally not having to step foot into the really cold school prison. Ha. Bliss.
I'm really looking forward to Chinese New Year! Not the spring cleaning part of which I have not even started! But the joy of meeting with frens and family. That is what I treasure. At this point, I'm feeling very blessed. I'm looking forward to visiting Mr Lai, my priamry school tutor, whose pupils have all made it to NIE and are planning to visit him together. Clara, Yiying and I have taken the same route-we all chose to teach. I'm really happy for us. We grew up together and lived in the same neighbourhood, waiting for the school bus to take us home together. Childhood friends who end up taking the same path in life. Seriously, how rare can that get? :P
Another accomplishment I made this week-I read Mark Haddon's "The Curious Incident of the dog in the Day time". It's a really nice book, one of those you can enjoy anytime of the day. So there I was at Suntec by myself after class yesterday, huddled in a corner at Macs reading silently. Going to re read it because it is so nice! Go read it people..:P
I stayed over at Dear's place last night and tried playing the Lord of The Rings on PS2 with him but I'm not really good. I died while trying to play Legolas and getting past Helm's Deep. Sigh. Got to try harder. Oh and this is the really good news of all of them! Dear is getting promoted soon! Praise God! Indeed we do not seek the gifts but the Giver! God is good to us all the time! Even my time in NIE is a blessed time. There is a season and timing for everything.
Today is a Super Good Day for me. :) Tomorrow will be even better.

As I write this post, I'm thinking of the fragility of life itself. In this week I've been to St Joseph's Church twice for two funerals. On Sunday, Edwin and I went down to the funeral of our mutual friend's drummer, a talented drummer called Paul. Only 26 yrs old, the first time we saw Paul in action was one week ago at The Substation, where Syaz's band performed.
Although we do not know Paul very well, it is saddening to know that someone so talented has passed away and the grief in the father's eyes was so obvious. I felt so sad. Paul's photo shows a smiling young man in his graduation gown, ready to take on the world after graduation. I felt so sad there and then because it hits me hard in the face that life is so delicate and once gone, we are no more.
Despite my recently very sad and depressing posts so far..I just want to say that I do appreciate what I have and I really don't wish to waste my time. I'm just going to learn not to take things for granted and press on!

If anyone ever wonders why the title of my blog is "After the Rain There is Sunshine", I'm telling my story in this post. In Chinese, there is this phrase, Yu Guo Tian Qing, which basically means the same thing as the title of my blog. It refers to problems or obstacles that are removed so that life can go on again. This is a reminder (daily) to myself that I may face many things in life that upset me but I always want to get up again so I don't fall forever.
When I blog I really am talking about the things and events in my life and there is no need to fake anything or any emotion that I feel now. Today something happened before lit class that upset me. Probably it is a trivial matter but not to me..it serves to reinforce the FACT that I'm actually turning into an isolated hermit, or maybe I have always been one right from the start!
Here goes.. I walked into class with Liyan today and I was about to put my bag on the seat next to hers. But she replied that she wanted to sit with Chan Ying not with me in what I interpreted as a mildly defensive/joking tone.. Yes I get the picture. Yes I get what you mean, and yes I know I know I have never been close to both of them. I'm just like the Outsiders S E Hinton wrote about. I know I know! WHy does everyone remind me so? Is it so hard to be nice to me? Am I such an unlovable freak?
That is the reason for choosing to work with Raksha and Mas for myself because I know in my mind and in my heart that I'm never in the league anyway. I'll never be a part of their clique or whatever you choose to call it. I'm just a negligible IT. It's a spill over effect from last semester, and I knew right from the start things were not going to go well. I knew I was going to be the loner in my class. I could never gel with the historians and the two geographers exclude me. Well done.
Anyone wanna pop champagne with me to celebrate my isolated status in NIE? I welcome you and I ask you not to judge me. Empathise with me and do not make me feel any worse than i already do. It is kinda hard to stop the rain from falling.

Ms Devi, my former lit teacher in Sec 2 has passed away on Sunday due to a heart attack. Received the news from Denise at 5 am plus today and in turn I passed on the message to other KCians. I did not know whether or not to believe it at first, as I had seen her around in NIE last semester.
Later on in the day, Amy confirmed the terrible news. Dot, Eunice, Vivian(Eunice's sis) and I made our way down to St Joseph's Church in the evening to pay our last respects to this wonderful teacher. Although she did not teach me for very long and she has probably forgotten who I am ( I was really very low profile kind you know), Ms Devi has helped me in my guiding days. I remember the Hostess badge that Yeong Sing and I had to earn and she gladly accepted our invitation to be the guest while we played host to her and welcomed her to dine with us. Ms Devi is someone who always calls us sweeties or darlings or dears, and she was not the DM that everyone was afraid of. She had a caring heart and kind words for her students.
I saw many other KCians when we got there. Many of them looked like our juniors..I hate to admit it but I am not young anymore! We exchanged brief conversations with one another and I was glad that we had each other in our KC network, to count on for joys and for sorrows. Where else do you find in the world, a place where you know friends for close to a decade or longer, and a place where teachers remember you fondly and a place where you know you never really left because your heart is still there? KC is my alma mater. My home. My haven. All my fellow KCians know this fact. We never really leave KC after all these years. Even though Ms Devi has left, we still remember her and we honour her in our memory. Ms Devi, I will not forget you.

One of my all-time favourites, Pastor Sy Rogers has this to say, "Christianity does not make us immune to our sexual passions. Everything doesn't get 'fixed' just because we come into relationship with God. "
In short, we are not immune to our humanity even as we come into Christianity. We are not divorced from the many experiences in our lives that hae shaped our fears, our hopes and our values. We are who we are because we have a history. Pastor Sy is an endearing speaker with a testimony that raises many eyebrows. Once upon a time a gay, he has left that lifestyle to believe in a God who came into his life.
I find him very endearing because he is a living example of what God can do for the ordinary you and me on the street. This is not a story of the "glorious" past anyone of us have but it is a story of the grace of God that can reach literally anybody on the street. As for myself, I thank God for making me the way I am. Even as I am flawed and there are many things about myself I wish to change I believe that God can help me along the way.
As I have mentioned earlier in another post, God is more interested in my character, not my comfort. I believe I am where I am because God wants me to be. In spite of all the uncertainties of the blur future, I want to have faith. I want to make it. I'm going to make it.

I'm back with the same lit class again and Ms Yee is taking us again. I can't begin to say how glad I am for this. My other modules have so far been disappointing. Especially SS. Sigh. No more on that now. Today we got to view the projects done by the other class. Hmm.. All I can say is, the two classes have produced entirely different works. Apparently the tutors expect different things and look out for different things in their marking.
Yes I still feel that my group deserved to get an A- for our poetry package. For the effort put in, for our ideas, our hard work!! Oh well..May the new year be the best yet. This lit module this sem knocks me off my feet with essays to write..I have had enough of writing honestly.. Having to plough through the readings and yet my mind is drifting and thinking of other things.. Not the best feeling to have.
At this point in time, I keep asking myself, God where are you when I need you? Why did I deserve all this crap? WHy him, why me and why ss? And then I remember...God takes delight in my character, not my comfort.. Which makes me wonder..Jesus was born in a manger and not in some posh inn. I don't think being a Christian comes easy for me. It is a struggle for me daily. To believe and to hold on. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Sigh.

Bad bad bad bad news...by the pricking of my thumbs something wicked this way comes....a quote off the Macbeth text, my O level lit text.. Yes yes what I have feared has come to pass...I'm most likely going to be under the charge of someone I dread. It is like a very bad nightmare...where you try to run but it is no use. You go back to the starting point once again to face your doom. To face your fears.
